Does France pose a large risk for a bird flu outbreakSubmitted by fortheinfo on Fri, 10/05/2007 - 5:54am.
Since France has such a large stock of poultry they've needed to increase their focus on the bird flu. They just downgraded their alert for bird flu from high to moderate. This decision was made due to the fact there have been no cases of bird flu found in the wild in the past few months. When a country with a large poultry population moves their alert system down it's cause for celebration. France, like most nations of poultry producers, has invested money and time into a system of prevention. It seems to be working. The AFSSA of France is responsible for the monitoring.
